Committees

Codes Committee**

Examines and makes recommendations on potential code changes and agency interpretations of building codes, fire and life safety, ADA, seismic regulations, SDC’s and other state and local agency regulations impacting building owners and managers. This committee deals with highly technical concepts and issues and requires a unique membership.

Education Committee

The Education Committee develops continuing education seminars each year, relevant to the commercial property professional, for which clock hours are earned for OREA.  This committee promotes Property Management skills training, markets education classes & seminars, and promotes sustainability and energy efficiency education.

Meetings: 4th Wednesday of each month. 2:00-3:30 PM.

Engineering Committee

Facilitates a quarterly engineering forum, allowing engineers to network and collaborate on challenges facing their buildings.

Meets quarterly.

Events Committee

The Events Committee is tasked with developing several events each year, including the Happy Hour Building Tours, Golf, and Expo. The Committee will be asked to assist with other events such as the Sponsor Appreciation Event, Award events, Holiday Party, and others as requested by the President and Executive Director.  With the assistance of BOMA staff, the group will fundraise for all events as well. The Committee will develop a draft budget for events the following year.

Meetings: Third Wednesday of every month. 11:30-1:00 PM. Additional meetings might be required from time to time and at event locations.

Government Affairs Committee

BOMA Oregon’s Government Affairs Committee meets with those who propose or decide public policy, analyzes existing or proposed legislation and/or regulations to determine the impact on BOMA members, and recommends to the BOMA Board approval of what position the association should take on such matters.

Meetings: Fourth Tuesday of every month. 10:00-11:30 AM.

Workforce Development Committee

The Workforce Development Committee focuses on the recruitment and early professional development needs of our industry.

Meetings: Second Thursday of every month. 2:00-3:30 PM.
